Kuk is a type of palm nut, otherwise known as coquilla nut and has been used for beads and decorative carvings for centuries. In this piece I have engraved an intricate interlocking pattern based on a hexagonal grid. This level of intricacy requires traditional hand gravers to execute as rotary tools, which are most commonly used will not allow the crisp detail and complete pattern to be carved. The beads are shaped with a subtle recurve near the holes to allow the finger to fit very comfortably between the beads. 33 beads measuring 12 x 12mm. This is an heirloom misbaha, a work of art to pass down to generations to come. Made to order and ships in 4-8 weeks of order date.
